Illustrerede Sange

Illustrated Songs is an interdisciplinary artistic experience created in collaboration between Søren Manscher and Iris Bakker. The experience consists of a concert by Søren Manscher during which Iris Bakker draws/paints live throughout the performance. The drawings are projected in real time via a projector.

The actual drawings, concrete images and moods inspired by the music Søren plays. The songs are original Danish songs about everyday topics. The drawings offer a visual interpretation of how the music can be understood and what the world within the music might look like.

‍

Everything Iris draws/paints is improvised on the spot, making this interdisciplinary concert experience entirely unique. The drawings serve as both an interpretation and documentation of the experience, as well as a visual anchor for the audience throughout the experience.
